As you can see, sometimes it's really hard to find a way to express what I have in mind :p This is particularly the case for this painting, I had a lot of difficulties to choose what I wanted to focus (color, movement, light, mood...)

The rendering is at the top, but if I have a small preference for the flames of the first version ;o)
But the monochrome and the poetry are frankly better in the second version

I think you made the right decision, having the background would have taken focus off the dancer and the chains. In my opinion the second one has more of an impact. great work like usual :)

It's interesting to watch your progress, and how the simpler blue/purple version you went with has a much stronger impact than the one you started out with. The message behind it is both sad and true.
