You are right, this tutorial don't speak about the saturation, and it changes absolutely all the rules :) It could be the subject of a new tutorial :p

You have presented a neat way of looking at colour theory (with "turtlish" one and the following colour article), and for that way, I have to "tip my hat to you".  :tip-hat:

You have given this a tremendous amount of thought -- and I think you have presented a more coherent model than what I have read from some of the other (even more established) colour theory experts.

But I am wondering if we can take your color model one step further, and add a counter or opposite colour to your beauty spot for use in the background or edges of shapes that you do not want the viewer's eyes drawn to.  Perhaps not an "ugly spot" but at least acting as a limit to the desaturation of colours on the palette?  (The underbelly of the turtle that the eyes of the viewer should not dwell on? ;-) )

I oftentimes do the same thing you do, i like to change the color balance a lot until it makes me feel the right way. This tutorial gives me a much better understanding of my own tendencies as well as colors! well done

Hello !

Hum, for me it would be not possible following my " turtle"
you can get :

BLUE GREEN  - ORANGE
BLUE GREEN -   BROWN
BLUE GREEN -   RED

To get the " yellow", you should have as dad /mom

GREEN PURPLE
ORANGE PURPLE
RED PURPLE

I hope it will help you :)

Adopt me! Adopt me! Adopt me! Now I only can imagine small turtles asking for adoption. Just fav for that!

hahahaha no no! Nice tutorial, and I think very helpful too. I hope so! I'm a mess with colors... and that's why I never finish my digital drawings. The color in  your ilustrations looks just awesome. The perfect combination so... I'l try it again now with this guidelines!(:

Just thank you! (I will mention on the description if I get something good hehe)
